MIAMI — Pan-American Sports Network prexy and CEO Jacques Kremer has ankled his executive role to become a consultant to the fast-growing Latin American sports net.
Kremer, a former executive with ESPN International, oversaw the launch of PSN early last year, and the network now has over 9 million subscribers in the region.
PSN gave no reason for the change but rumors of a management ouster had been swirling in the industry. PSN said Kremer would work on selected projects.
Hicks Muse exec Cesar Baez has been named interim CEO. The private equity group backs the network and its related properties.
Cable executive Jim Ganley is the network’s new Chief Operating Officer, based in Miami.
The announcement follows the merger of Fox Sports Intls Spanish-lingo sports channels in the U.S. and Latin America with Argentina-based sports network, TyC Sports.
