Inside Move: CNN’s Bay watch on air in fall

Cabler vet premieres as biz talkshow anchor

Willow Bay has been off the air at CNN since she was bumped from “Moneyline” in May to make room for Lou Dobbs. That will change this fall when Bay premieres as anchor of the weekend business talkshow “Pinnacle.”

Since “Pinnacle” host Beverly Schuch was laid off in January, the program has been hosted by a rotating mix of anchors. In recent weeks, Bay has been working behind the scenes on “Pinnacle,” which routinely features interviews with top business moguls.

In addition to being well-connected on her own, Bay has pull in the media world because she’s married to Disney chief operating officer Robert Iger. In the coming months, Bay will play an even bigger role at CNN as anchor of a new West Coast-based morning newscast being developed for her.

A CNN spokeswoman declined to go into detail about Bay’s future role at CNN, but acknowledged, “We are developing a high-profile role for Willow in Los Angeles.”
