Every dog has its day– but some pups get two.
“Dog Days,” a half-hour Carsey-Werner-Mandabach project originally developed by NBC, has resurfaced in a new form at ABC. Alphabet web has made a put pilot commitment to a revamped “Dog” to be written and exec produced by Jason Venokur and David Goetsch (“3rd Rock From the Sun”) and Ross Venokur. Trio, who have an overall deal at C-W-M, were not part of the original pilot.
NBC last summer made a series commitment to the project, which originally revolved around a teenage girl and her talking dog. After filming a pilot, the net ordered five more episodes; NBC then asked for more changes in the show. Peacock finally backed out of its deal with C-W-M (Daily Variety, Nov. 1).
The new take will feature a fresh cast and will focus on two brothers and their chatty canine.
