Hurd’s Valhalla adds TV arm

Producer 'impressed with possibilities original series provide'

Producer Gale Anne Hurd has created a TV division for her production company Valhalla Motion Pictures.

Valhalla TV will produce original series, movies and fact-based programming for broadcast and cable networks; plans are also under way for future programming featuring broadbased technology.

Hurd has already enlisted tenpercentery CAA to work with her and company prexy Barbara Boyle to assemble a TV development and production staff.

“In the past I have never considered TV production,” Hurd said. “However, I am incredibly impressed with the possibilities original series provide a hands-on producer like myself. The opportunity to create compelling characters and follow them over the course of a series is very intriguing.”

Valhalla, which holds a first-look deal production and distrib deal with Kinowelt USA, is readying “Hulk” for Universal and is in post-production on Paramount’s “Clockstopper.”
