Henson goes to Salsa

Muppets, Fraggles, to spend time on Latin channel

MIAMI — Salsa Distribution has inked a distrib deal with Mexico-based MVS Television for the Latin American rights to several Jim Henson Productions programs.

In a three-year deal starting April 2002, MVS’ pan-regional kiddie feevee Zaz will include a two-hour daily Henson block.

MVS will bow “The Hoobs” in Latin America, and has licensed episodes of Fraggle Rock” , “Muppet Babies”, “Mopatop Shop: “Jim Henson’s Animal Show,” and “The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss.”

It purchased a total of 644 episodes, or roughly 320 hours, of programming.
