Granada crosses Border to ITV lead

Granada Media has completed its £50.5 million ($72 million) acquisition of Border Television, taking its tally of ITV stations to seven out of 15.

Granada agreed to buy Border from the U.K.’s Capital radio group last year.

The deal boosts Granada’s share of ITV’s advertising sales to 52% and consolidates its position ahead of Carlton Communications, the other big ITV company.
