Germany’s Pepper’ shakes Merkl

German distrib Peppermint has named Angelika Merkl head of TV acquisitions.

Merkl will be in charge of worldwide TV acquisitions and will report to Peppermint managing director Michael Knobloch.

Merkl spent nine years working for media giant the Kirch Group, lastly as head of acquisitions for German-lingo territories.

A subsidiary of Germany’s Helkon Media, Peppermint’s primary markets are Europe and Asia, with operations in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and Malaysia.

Company hawks a wide range of genres and formats, including theatrical, TV, video, DVD, Internet and new media under its Peppermint and Pepperkids labels. It also co-finances and develops projects with international partners.
