‘Garcia’ adds family member

Ajakwe Jr. joins as head writer, co-exec producer

Michael Ajakwe Jr. is joining Nickelodeon series “The Brothers Garcia” in its third season as head writer and co-executive producer.

Sitcom, exec produced by Jeff Valdez, has been recognized for being the first English-language comedy series to feature an all-Latino cast and for employing an ethnically diverse creative team. Skein follows the life of a Mexican-American family living in San Antonio.

Ajakwe served as a writer for the show last season, and his credits also include E!’s “Talk Soup,” Showtime’s “Soul Food” and UPN’s “The Parkers” and “Moesha.”

Show is produced by SiTV in association with Nickelodeon.
