FX’s “The Test” is not making the grade: Production on the latenight series hosted by Jillian Barberie will wrap at the end of this week.
“The Test” preemed on basic cabler FX in April and has been airing Monday-Friday at 11 p.m. to less-than-stellar ratings. Like much latenight cable fare, the show tended to register sub-1.0 cable ratings.
During each episode, four guest celebrities and the studio audience take personality tests on wide-ranging topics.
Sources said episodes of the show may continue to air for some time on the network, and there is a chance the show could go back into production down the line. However, FX Network’s original programming efforts are being focused on new programs for primetime.
Coming up on FX are preems of comedy series “Bad News, Mr. Swanson,” drama series “Rampart” and original pic “Sins of the Father,” as well as the third season of “Son of the Beach.”
