Carsey-Werner-Mandabach skein tackles decade of greed
Like, totally rad: The cast for Carsey-Werner-Mandabach’s new 1980s laffer for Fox has been set.
Tentatively titled “Eighties,” skein is set in the decade of greed and revolves around a group of twentysomething pals and their family. Mark Brazill, Terry Turner and Linda Wallem are the creators.
Glenn Howerton (“Monday Night Mayhem”) and Tinsley Grimes (“Never Been Kissed”) will play brother and sister Corey and Katie. Veteran character actor Geoff Pierson (“Unhappily Ever After”) will play their father, R.T.Brittany Daniel, Chyler Leigh, Margaret Smith and Eddie Shin have been set as friends Sophia, Tuesday, Margaret and Roger.
“Eighties” has been given a 13-episode on-air commitment by Fox and is scheduled to bow this winter. While skein is from the same studio that produces Fox’s smash Tuesday hit “That ’70s Show,” it will not be a spinoff.
