Fox ‘Alaska’ bound

Deal fourth U.S. format sale for U.K.'s Target

LONDON — U.K. indie Target Distribution has sold reality format “I Want A Wife: Alaska” to the Fox network.

The show, created by New Zealand production company Touchdown Television, will be produced be LMNO Productions and Fox has ordered an intitial seven one-hour episodes. The deal was brokered by the William Morris Agency in London.

The premise is to follow a quartet of southern city women as they search for a husband in Alaska from a pool of 40 men. Their prospective mates must prove their worthiness in a series of competitions designed to showcase physical fitness and intelligence.

Target holds the worldwide rights to the format and the Fox deal is the fourth for the company in the U.S. market. Previously, Target sold “Single Girls” to ABC, “Popstars” to the WB network, and “Daylight Robbery” to USA Network.
