'Dr. Dolittle 2,' 'King of the Hill' honored

The 11th annual Environmental Media Awards, held at the Los Angeles Wilshire Ebell Theater on Wednesday, feted “Dr. Dolittle 2,” “The Practice” and “King of the Hill” for increasing public awareness of environmental issues.

Cartoon character Lisa Simpson of “The Simpsons” took home top honors, the Board of Directors Award for Ongoing Commitment to the environment, while “Boston Public” was awarded the $10,000 Turner Prize for addressing the subject of contraception and population growth.

“Braceface,” and “Lizzie McGuire” won for children’s television programming.

Hosted by Chevy Chase, the celeb-studded gala was sponsored by Rodale and boasted complimentary electric transportation and an all-organic, mostly vegetarian menu.
