Emmis to layoff 120 tube staffers

Many of axed positions came from former Lee stations

NEW YORK — As the belt-tightening continues, radio and TV broadcaster Emmis Communications said Thursday it was cutting 120 jobs from its 15-station television division.

The Indianapolis-based company said many of the jobs were at stations Emmis bought from Lee Enterprises in October of 2000 and the cuts were part of integration and reallocation of resources.
