Hoffman, Stiller, Crystal to contribute to 'Liberty's'

Michael Douglas will lend his voice to the PBS show “Liberty’s Kids,” an animated series depicting dramatic events of the American Revolution.

Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller, Billy Crystal, Annette Bening and Whoopi Goldberg are set to join Walter Cronkite on the show. Douglas will voice George Washington in 20 of the 40 episodes, while Cronkite will portray Benjamin Franklin. Plot centers around three apprentice journos working for Franklin’s paper.

“The celebrity response to this show has been overwhelming,” said Marsha Goodman, exec veep of talent at producer DIC Entertainment.

“Liberty’s Kids” will bow on PBS on Memorial Day.
