Disney pacts with Russia’s ORT

Pubcaster picks up '60 Seconds,' 'George,' 'Alias'

LONDON — Buena Vista Intl. TV has struck a multi-year deal to supply live-action movies and series to Russian state broadcaster ORT.

The agreement includes pics such as “Gone In 60 Seconds” and “George of the Jungle,” as well as the new TV series “Alias.”

It will also provide ORT with an expanded “Disney Club,” which is already a hit with younger Russian kids.

According to ORT head of acquisitions Anatoly Maximov, the deal “secures ORT as the home of Disney-branded programs in Russia.”

“We have developed our presence on Russian television with ORT over many years,” Doug Miller, BVI-TV’s VP and general manager of sales, said. “This new agreement builds on that relationship and brings it to new heights through the diversity and volume of programming licensed.”
