MIAMI — Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia has restructured to create network-specific teams.
The pay TV programmer has named four network group directors who are responsible for its six channels in the region, each exec overseeing programming, creative direction, budget and ratings performance.
Kelley Nichols has been named network group director for the flagship Discovery Channel. Before joining Discovery, she spent a year as general manager of Warner Channel Latin America. Discovery has upped former director of marketing Ariella Midolo to network group director for the Discovery Health and Discovery Travel & Adventure, the newest channels in the region. She has been with Discovery Latin America since 1996.
Darcy Tomlin has been promoted from director of programming to network group director of People & Arts, the joint venture channel with the BBC. She first joined Discovery in 1996, in the Bethesda, Md.-based international division.
Director of on-air promotions Peach Gibson has been promoted to oversee Discovery Kids and Animal Planet, the other joint venture channel with the BBC.
Nichols and Midolo will report to Ryan Shiotani, vice president of programming, while Tomlin and Gibson will report to Stephen Friedman, vice president of marketing.
