Vet leaves as VP of publicity, corporate communications
Veteran Fox Broadcasting Co. publicity executive Jeff DeRome has ankled the net to pursue other opportunities.
“It’s been a great ride over the last nine years at Fox,” said DeRome, who was most recently VP, publicity and corporate communications. “It just seems like it’s the right time in my life to move on.”
DeRome represented the net’s research, sales and broadcast standards departments. During his tenure at Fox, he oversaw the net’s expansion to a full seven night primetime sked. When he joined Fox in 1992 as director of publicity, he was responsible for opening the Gotham publicity department for the net.
Prior to Fox, DeRome worked at ABC Television Network as manager, media relations in Gotham. He began his career at CBS Entertainment in 1980 as a publicist. While at CBS, he worked on shows such as “Designing Women,” “Knots Landing” and “Wiseguy,” as well as a number of specials and movies. He also helped launch “Saturday Night with Connie Chung” for CBS News.
