Denmark’s ‘Popstars’ beats ‘Big’

Reality skein “Popstars” beat “Big Brother” as Danish pubcaster TV2/Danmark bowed the local version of the show Tuesday.

Produced by TV2/Danmark, Metronome Prods. and MusicMatters Management, the show about how an all-girl rock group is created, profiled, supplied and marketed, scored an aud share of 45%, 915,000 viewers. Commercial broadcaster TvDanmark’s second round of “Big Brother” attracted 147,000 audiences, down 36% down from last year.

In Norway, commercial channel TV2’s Monday launch of “The Farm,” following 16 people left at a farm for 13 weeks to survive from whatever they can produce “the old-fashioned way,” attracted 730,000 viewers, or roughly a 59 share.
