D’Works, Touchstone catch trio’s pitch

Kings pact with Underwood for hourlong drama

Scribes Robert and Michelle King have partnered with director Ron Underwood to develop an hourlong drama at DreamWorks and Touchstone Television.

Project, which is still in the script phase, will take place in Tijuana and San Diego and focus on the border patrol police situated between the U.S. and Mexico.

All three players would serve in the executive producer role if the project, tentatively titled “On the Line,” goes to series.

DreamWorks bought the pitch and brought Touchstone along; no network is attached, although ABC would be an obvious front-runner. The two studios currently co-produce “The Job” at the Alphabet web.

Underwood, who’s repped by UTA, helmed 1998’s Disney pic “Mighty Joe Young.” His other credits include the upcoming “Pluto Nash,” as well as “Speechless,” “City Slickers” and “Tremors.”

Robert King wrote the film “Vertical Limit,” as well as the telepic “Angels in the Infield.” His other credits include “Red Corner,” “Cutthroat Island” and “Speechless.” The Kings are repped by Paradigm.
