Move follows ankling of Russell
CNN Headline News is expanding its ranks.
The cable news net has hired Alisha Davis and Kris Osburn as culture and entertainment anchor and general assignment anchor, respectively. Both will be based in CNN’s world headquarters in Atlanta.
Davis joins the network from Newsweek magazine where she reported for the society, fashion and arts sections and wrote and reported for the weekly Newsmakers page.
Previously, Osburn worked at Fox News in Atlanta where he served as general assignment correspondent and contributor to the news net’s web site. While at Fox News, Osburn covered such news stories as the Elian Gonzalez custody battle and Election 2000.
Headline News has undergone some changes recently as it prepares to relaunch in late summer with a format that will feature more live reports. Last month, veteran anchor Lynne Russell resigned after 18 years at the cable net. The net also recently hired former “NYPD Blue” star Andrea Thompson as an anchor.
