LONDON — Satcaster BSkyB has focused on its core strengths in its £500 million ($715 million) spring-summer programming sked with U.S. imports, reality shows and a dollop of sex.
Coming to flagship channel Sky One is Fox’s “Boot Camp,” animation hit “Gary & Mike,” another series of BSkyB’s popular soccer drama “Dream Team,” and “Hotter Sex,” a new show about exactly that.
Kate Marsh, BSkyB’s deputy director for broadcasting and production, described the lineup as a “really good mix” and said that the satcaster was looking to “build up its brands and franchises.”
This follows a period in which Sky One experimented with homemade, and expensive, comedy fare that largely failed to connect with BSkyB’s core 16- to 34-year-old demographic.
Marsh added that a replacement for ex-Sky One head David Bergg, who left late last year, would be announced within a few weeks.
