TV tycoon turned pol Silvio Ber-lusconi is the Italian politician with the most airtime on pubcaster RAI since Jan. 1, according to independent monitoring agency Osservatorio.
Berlusconi, expected to be elected prime minister at the general election May 13, has appeared on RAI’s three TV channels for 260 minutes since the first of the year. Francesco Rutelli, the center-right candidate, appeared for 237 minutes. Giancarlo Fini, leader of former fascist party National Alliance and an ally of Berlusconi, was third with 163.
In the same period, Berlusconi’s Mediaset’s three channels aired Berlus-coni for 690 minutes, while Rutelli was not even included in the top 10 politicians.
Berlusconi constantly accuses RAI of being biased against him.
