MIAMI — BBC Worldwide Americas has upped Jose Sanchez to regional director of television sales, Latin America.
Sanchez takes over the responsibilities of Mayra Bracer Vega, who has moved to the BBC’s U.S. television co-production and sales division.
Sanchez joined the BBC from ABC in January 2000.
He will be responsible for all TV program distribution in Mexico, Central America and South America, and the English and Spanish-speaking Caribbean countries. Sanchez also will oversee the development of strategy, coordinating with the publishing, consumer products and new business areas.
With his promotion, BBC Worldwide Americas has restructured its regional sales team. Sales exec Helen Jurado has been upped to manager, and coordinator Ruben Acosta has been named executive.
