India’s Aaj Tak news channel team has been given permission by Afghanistan authorities to set up a team in the northern battlefront areas of the country.

The Aaj Tak team is the first in South Asia to be allowed into Afghanistan, where until now only a few Western correspondents have managed to set up base. Owned by TV Today, an offshoot of publishing group India Today, Aaj Tak is India’s most popular news and current affairs channel.
