Relative newcomer Amy Acker has landed on “Angel,” joining the regular cast of the WB drama.
Starting this fall, Acker will be part of what will now be a core of five cast members. Thesp had appeared as a guest at the end of the 2000-01 season of “Angel,” from 20th Century Fox Television.
“She just lights up the room, and several adjoining rooms, and some nearby neighborhoods,” said “Angel” co-creator and exec producer Joss Whedon.
He said Acker’s character will help solidify the internal dynamic of the show’s four other central characters. “She is the final piece of the puzzle in how we make ‘Angel’ work,” Whedon added.
Acker’s previous tube credits include the MTV pilot “Hell House” and several episodes of the PBS kiddie skein “Wishbone.” On the feature side, she appeared in the William Shatner-directed pic “Groom Lake.”
Thesp is repped by Lesher Entertainment and Silver Massetti & Szatmary.
