3 countries team to give ‘Wild’ life

Doc to focus on where nature, city converge

TORONTO — Canada, France and Japan are coming together to produce and air docu series “Urban/Wild,” about the place where nature and the city meet.

The four one-hour programs about the integration of the artificial and natural realms in Paris, Tokyo, New York and Toronto will be produced by Tele Images Nature in France and Canada’s Stuart Samuels Prods. in association with NHK in Japan.

Series will be shot and post-produced in the 24p high-definition format, with Stuart Samuels at the helm. Samuels co-produced and co-directed “Visions of Light,” the first HD documentary to be shown at the Cannes Intl. Film Festival.

“Urban/Wild” will premiere on Discovery Canada, France’s La Cinquieme and NHK.
