Girls strum for good cause

Blige, Dixie Chick cover Etta James

Mary J. Blige and Emmylou Harris were among the performers who brought the house down at Friday’s taping of cabler Lifetime’s “Women Rock! Girls & Guitars” concert at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles.

The set list included several rare ensemble sets, featuring performers not normally seen on the same stage. Perfs by Pat Benetar, the Dixie Chicks and Sheryl Crow were among those that inspired whoops from the crowd.

Among the night’s highlights: Blige and Dixie Chick Natalie Maines collaborated on a version of Etta James’ classic “At Last.”

Annual concert, to support breast cancer research, was sponsored by Lifetime Television and Marie Claire. Show airs at 9 p.m. Oct. 26 on Lifetime.
