Tony Ward, Adam Lowenberg

Arista Records has moved marketing department staffers Tony Ward and Adam Lowenberg upstairs to VP positions, reporting to marketing senior VP George Levendis. The newly minted execs will both be charged with developing marketing strategies for Arista’s roster of artists, which includes Outkast, Carlos Santana and Toni Braxton. Ward and Lowenberg also will act as liaisons, linking artists and their managers with Arista’s A&R, sales, promotion and other departments.

Ward has been director of artist development at the label since January 1999, and has held marketing and production posts at EMI, Virgin, Charisma Records and in the U.S. office of U.K.-based management firm Sanctuary. Lowenberg began his tenure at Arista in 1997 as associate director, and was promoted to director a year later. Prior to signing on with the label, he worked at EMI for five years, most recently as a product manager.
