Jack Kelly

Jack Kelly, well-known bird trainer in the entertainment industry for more than three decades, died May 22 of cancer at the Citrus Valley Hospice facility in Covina. He was 79.

A native of Philadelphia, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and settled in Los Angeles in 1950.

He trained dozens of exotic birds; many of which appeared on TV shows including “Romper Room” and “Empty Nest.” His birds also appeared on numerous TV commercials and album covers.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marion and a niece.
