Harold Abeles, a noted Beverly Hills entertainment attorney, died Saturday at his home in Los Angeles following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 74.
A graduate of Vanderbilt U., he moved to Los Angeles in 1950 and practiced entertainment law for four decades. His roster of clients included George Hamilton, Ernest Borgnine, Steve McQueen and Red Buttons.
Along with actress Ruta Lee and others, he started the Thalians, an org that raises money in support of the Thalians Mental Health Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
He is survived by two daughters, actress Sara Gilbert and Patrice Graves; a son, Joseph Abeles; a stepdaughter, actress Melissa Gilbert; a stepson, Jonathan Gilbert; and a sister.
