David Lawlor

David Lawlor, well-known Broadway general manager and company manager, died Sept. 2 after a brief illness. He was 73.

Having started in the business as Mike Todd’s office boy, Lawlor went on to serve as company manager’s apprenticeship under the legendary Benny Stein. Over the years, he was represented on Broadway by many productions of Fryer and Carr, the Nederlander Organization and the Shubert Organization.

He also was general managed on “An Almost Perfect Person,” “The Royal Family,” “Buried Child” and “Night of the Tribads,” all for Burry Fredrik. He performed similar duties on numerous Off Broadway productions, including “A … My Name Is Alice”

Lawlor is survived by his sister, Virginia Percoco.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homeless Tails Foundation, 1056 Valley Road, Wayne N.J.
