Audrey Gomez, a cousin of writer-producer Michael Lazarou and cousin by marriage to NBC vice president, Charisse McGhee Lazarou, died Sept. 1, the victim of an apparent homicide. She was 28.
Gomez, a standout basketball star at USC five years ago, was discovered in the back seat of her car in Whittier, Calif. Authorities arrested Angela H. Shepherd, a former LAPD officer, in connection with the death. Shepherd, a program director at a residential shelter in Los Angeles, was Gomez’s supervisor.
Gomez is survived by her parents and a sister.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
