The Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group has upped director of production Brigham Taylor to veep of production.
The exec has held the director of production post since March, working on pics for both the Disney and Touchstone labels.
“I’m really pleased to give Brigham this well deserved promotion,” said Nina Jacobson, prexy of the Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group. “He’s worked very hard and has grown into one of the brightest young production executives around.”
Taylor added: “It’s certainly a pleasure to work for people as creative and supportive as Peter (Schneider) and Nina. Nina especially has been a great mentor over the past three years.”
Taylor has been shepherding “Country Bears,” which he developed with Disney Writers Program alum Mark Perez. Pic, set to be released next summer, was inspired by Disneyland’s Country Bear Jamboree attraction. He is also working on the upcoming releases “Snowbound,” “Crazy/Beautiful” and “The Rookie.”
Taylor also worked on such pics as Disney’s “Remember the Titans” and Touchstone’s “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Taylor began at the Mouse House in 1994 as an assistant at Walt Disney Pictures. He moved to the Disney/Touchstone creative affairs department the following year. In 1998, he was made creative executive for WDP.
