Film fest kicks off fifth edition

The Urbanworld Film Festival kicked off its fifth edition Wednesday at Loews Theater with the premiere of “Lockdown.”

Since 1997, the Urbanworld Film Festival has showcased over 250 features, shorts and documentaries from African-American filmakers, and has expanded to include Latin and Asian sidebars and a screenplay competition.
