Cromosoma, RTV makes ‘Jones’ pact

Mipcom Brief

Barcelona-based Cromosoma TV Prods. has inked to co-produce the 26-part, $6 million children’s series “Juanito Jones” with Germany’s RTV Family Entertainment, which is owned by German publishing company the Ravensberger Group, and Club Megatrix, the kids niche channel of Telefonica Media-owned Spanish net Antena 3.

Shaping up as one of the standout Spanish-sourced animation projects this year, “Jones” closed Mexican free TV rights with Televisa on Tuesday at Cannes, said Cromosoma managing director Sergi Reitg. Agreement follows deals with Univision in U.S. terrestrial TV; French broadcaster TF1; Disney Channel Europe for pay TV in Italy, France and Spain; and Nickelodeon for Latin American pay.
