NEW YORK — Sony Music has named Ric Wake senior VP of A&R at Epic Records Group, and has simultaneously extended its agreement with the veteran producer/arranger to produce artists across the Sony oeuvre.
In his new capacity at Epic, Wake will handle signing and development of new artists, as well as cultivate existing talent. Exec will report to Epic group topper Polly Anthony.
The multiyear production pact extension builds on Wake’s extensive work with Sony artists, including Celine Dion, Mariah Carey and Marc Anthony.
Wake is currently working on projects from a range of artists, including R&B crooner Ginuwine and pop divas Anastacia, Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson.
Wake’s career in the studio has spanned two decades, including collaborations on songs from Taylor Dayne, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Natalie Cole. His efforts have earned him two Grammys.
