‘Toxicity’ tops album chart

Group on top after correction to SoundScan error

System of a Down’s “Toxicity” (American/Columbia) was declared the top-selling album for the week ended Sept. 9 after a major reporting error was detected in the SoundScan system.

Columbia Records issued revised Soundscan charts Thursday showing that “Toxicity,” the metal band’s second album, sold 223,00 units, which bested Alicia Keys’ J Records debut “Songs in A Minor,” which sold 192,000. SoundScan’s initial report showed System of a Down selling 170,000 and coming in second place.
