Stewart takes Grammy reins

'Daily Show' host named as Whoopi's stand-in

Comedian and talks-show host Jon Stewart has been named host of the Grammy Awards ceremony on Wednesday, replacing Whoopi Goldberg who had to pull out due to health problems.

Stewart hosts “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central and previously hosted an interview show for MTV, which Paramount used to replace “Arsenio Hall” in syndication.

Film credits include “Big Daddy” and “The Faculty”; upcoming film work includes “Death to Smoochy” with Robin Williams and Danny DeVito.
