MTV adds Jay-A, Linkin Park

Backstreet Boys, Aguilera, Destiny's Child among presenters

Jay-Z and Linkin Park will perform at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, joining a lineup that includes Jennifer Lopez, U2, Britney Spears and Missy Elliott.

Nominated for his musicvideo “I Just Wanna Love U,” Jay-Z will perform his new single, “H.O.V.A. (Izzo).” Linkin Park, whose musicvid”Crawling” received two noms, will perform “One Step Closer.”

The cabler also announced a slate of presenters for the kudocast, including the Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Destiny’s Child, P. Diddy, Eve, Chris Kattan, Mandy Moore, Mya, Gwen Stefani, Ozzy Osbourne, Pink, Estella Warren, Ben Stiller and Jessica Simpson.

Hosted by Jamie Foxx, the 18th annual awards show will be broadcast Sept. 6 from the Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center in New York City.
