MCA spins Satenstein to exec veepee slot

Will oversee financial, strategic planning

NEW YORK — MCA Records has promoted Paul Satenstein to exec VP, reporting directly to MCA topper Jay Boberg.

Satenstein, who was senior VP and financial chief at the Universal Music Group imprint, will oversee financial and strategic planning, as well as new-media marketing and other technology-related issues.

Boberg credited Satenstein with helping to improve the fortunes of the once-ailing MCA, which conducted a top-down internal restructuring over the past four years.

“Paul Satenstein has been a full partner and key player in the surging success of MCA Records over the past several years,” Boberg said.

Satenstein slid over to MCA Records from the label’s music publishing division, where he served as financial chief for a year. Before that, he was director of finance and business development for EMI.
