Deston Songs, a publishing firm set up by pop-rocker Desmond Child, ex-Polygram Music Publishing topper David Simone and manager Winston Simone, has inked an exclusive publishing deal with pop songwriter and producer Mark Hudson.
The multiyear pact sees Hudson migrating from his prior publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing.
Hudson, a vet of the ’70s and ’80s rock scene, has written and/or produced tracks for such artists as Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, the Scorpions and Bryan Adams. More recently, he has written hits for Celine Dion and Hansen.
On his most recent outing, he co-produced and co-wrote six tracks for the latest Aerosmith effort, “Just Push Play,” which debuted at No. 2 on the album charts, according to SoundScan.
Deston, which operates as a joint venture with the publishing arm of German indie Edel Music, also boasts songwriter Anslem Douglas, who penned the ubiquitous sports anthem “Who Let the Dogs Out.”
