Hollywood Records, which is part of the Buena Vista Music Group, has tapped former MCA Records exec VP Abbey Konowitch as senior veep-general manager.
Based out of the label’s Burbank offices, Konowitch will oversee all aspects of the company’s marketing, sales and promo activities.
“Abbey has had a long and unparalleled career, continually displaying that rare mixture of strong business acumen and sharp creative vision,” said Buena Vista Music Group chairman Bob Cavallo. Prior to the MCA gig, Konowitch helped build Madonna’s label, Maverick Records, where he served as general manager. He’s also held posts at MTV and Arista.
