NEW YORK — A new publisher will be pressing the flesh at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar party at Morton’s this year.
After promoting the magazine’s last publisher, Peter King Hunsinger, to the newly created post of Conde Nast chief marketing officer last week, the magazine group has replaced him with Louis Cona, publisher of rival celebrity glossy InStyle.
A longtime vet of Time Inc., Cona has successfully steered InStyle through a rocky mag market in recent months. Last year, InStyle ad pages increased by 27.5%, while Vanity Fair ad pages rose 11% under Hunsinger.
Cona’s appointment is effective immediately.
