The Academy’s Kodak Theater is not the only up-and-coming attraction to hit Hollywood and Highland. Seventeen magazine has unveiled plans for a venue of its own.
The combination dance club, eatery and retail boutique, dubbed One Seven, will open Nov. 8.
“It will be a brick and mortar destination that transports teens directly into the world of the Seventeen brand,” said Linda Platzner, prexy and group publisher of Primedia Teen Magazines, which publishes Seventeen.
Club will be operated by licensee Creative Teen Concepts, a frosh company co-founded by Gillian and Steven Foster and Kevin Troy, founders of national interactive entertainment and dining franchise Jillian’s.
Seventeen’s Web site, Seventeen.com, will post skeds of upcoming One Seven music events and Webcasts.
