HOLLYWOOD — DIC Entertainment has hired Kathi Sharpe-Ross as the Burbank-based kidvid studio’s new senior VP of marketing, PR and promotions.
Sharpe-Ross, who founded Sharpe PR & Marketing in 1987, will dissolve her own shop to take the post at DIC.
She’ll report to the company’s chairman-CEO Andy Heyward.
Sharpe-Ross will be responsible for identifying company assets, developing them into marketing properties and establishing corporate partners, in addition to heading advertising, marketing, PR and promo initiatives.
The company’s properties include “Inspector Gadget,” “Madeline,” “Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?,” “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “Sailor Moon.”
With the company’s proposed $170 million buyout of Gotham-based Golden Books, such characters as Lassie and Frosty the Snowman would be added to that list (Daily Variety, June 5).
