German media giant Bertelsmann said Thursday its German book publishing division, Bertelsmann Buch Verlagsgruppe, will be renamed Random House.
All Bertelsmann publishing worldwide will be carried out under the Random House label.
Klaus Eck, publisher and managing director of the previous entity, becomes president and board member. Volker Neumann will be responsible for distribution and marketing.
Bertelsmann acquired the U.S.-based Random House in 1998, making it the world’s largest English-language publisher.
