Leigh lines up for lead in ‘Proof’

Thesp's last B'way stint was 'Cabaret' revival

Jennifer Jason Leigh will take over the lead role in “Proof” beginning Sept. 11.

She replaces Tony winner Mary-Louise Parker in the David Auburn drama, which opened on Broadway last fall after a successful Off Broadway run at the Manhattan Theater Club.

Parker’s last perf will be Sept. 9.

Leigh was last seen on Broadway in the Sam Mendes revival of “Cabaret,” in which she replaced another Tony winner, Natasha Richardson, in the role of Sally Bowles.

Prior stage experience includes “Picnic” at L.A.’s Ahmanson Theater and “Sunshine” at Gotham’s Circle Rep.

She’ll next be seen on film in Mendes’ “The Road to Perdition” opposite Tom Hanks, Paul Newman and Jude Law.
