Kudos to be presented May 11

NEW YORK — The Drama League announced the nominees for its annual awards Thursday. The noms, which mix Broadway and Off Broadway productions, will be presented May 11 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Contenders for play are Abby Mann’s “Judgment at Nuremberg,” David Auburn’s “Proof,” Marie Jones’ “Stones in His Pockets,” Tom Stoppard’s “The Invention of Love,” Edward Albee’s “The Play About the Baby” and Pamela Gien’s “The Syringa Tree.”

Musical nominees are “Bat Boy,” “Seussical,” “Suburb,” “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” “The Full Monty” and “The Producers.”

Blast from the past

Competing for best revival are “Blithe Spirit,” “42nd Street,” “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Saved,” “The Rocky Horror Show” and “Tiny Alice.”

The org will give special awards to the Steppenwolf Theatre Co., which is presenting the revival of “Cuckoo’s Nest,” and Jack O’Brien, who directed Stoppard’s “Invention of Love” and musical “Full Monty” on Broadway.
