‘World’ sets Perell’s Process banner in motion

'I'm With Lucy' next on new shingle's slate

Former Eureka Pictures co-founder and partner Tim Perell has established Process, a Gotham-based production company.

First under the Process banner is “World Traveler,” the Bart Freundlich-helmed pic that preemed at the recent Toronto Intl. Film Festival. Perell produced along with IFC Prods.; Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup star.

Next up for Perell and his shingle is “I’m With Lucy,” financed by Gaumont and starring Monica Potter and Henry Thomas. Jon Sherman-directed pic is due for release next summer.

Howard Gertler has been tapped Process head of production; Benjamin Gerdes serves as shingle’s director of development.

Process’ development slate includes “In God’s Hands,” to be helmed by Lodge Kerrigan (“Clean, Shaven”); “Yes,” with “Jesus’ Son” helmer Alison Maclean attached to direct; and “Jack and Chester,” to be directed by Joel Hopkins.

Prior to forming Process, Perell was co-prexy of Eureka Pictures, which he founded with Howard Bernstein in 1996. At Eureka, Perell exec produced Hopkins’ “Jump Tomorrow,” picked up after its preem at Sundance this year by IFC Releasing. He also produced First Look Pictures release “The Opportunists,” helmed by Myles Connell and starring Christopher Walken and Cyndi Lauper.

Perell’s producing credits include Freundlich’s “The Myth of Fingerprints,” Sherman’s “Breathing Room” and Alexandre Rockwell’s “Louis &Frank.”
