Pic adapted from Winslow thriller
HOLLYWOOD — Peter Berg is returning to the director’s chair to helm “California Fire and Life” for Working Title and Universal.
Thesp Berg last helmed the 1998 pic “Very Bad Things,” which he also wrote. Among his long list of acting credits, his latest is “Corky Romano.”
“California Fire and Life” was adapted from a thriller by Don Winslow about an arson adjustor for an insurance company who investigates the suspicious death of a wealthy young mother.
Berg has also been attached to direct “Truck 44” for Fox 2000, but that project, which shows firefighters in peril, is on hold.
Working Title production prexy Liza Chasen is overseeing “Fire and Life” for co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
